Accessibility statement for United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust Recruitment Website

This accessibility statement applies to ULHT’s recruitment website: careersulht.co.uk

This recruitment website was designed and developed by Just R and is run by United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.

We have taken steps to comply with WCAG 2.1 which include amends and additions such as:

  • Subtitles option included with videos
  • Suitable colour contrast between text and background colour
  • An additional tool plugin allowing for additional features readily available
  • Website text as simple as possible to understand

This means that you should be able to:

  • Change colours, contrast levels and fonts with the assistance of the accessibility tool plugin
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • Our online forms are difficult to navigate using just a keyboard
  • In places, decorative elements have been used – these have been stated as decorative elements
  • There are minimal cases of text in imagery to enhance the aesthetic of the website. In such cases, alternative text has been applied as well as additional coding to ensure it is accessible to users using screen-reading software.
  • Certain text elements will be affected when page is zoomed over 300%
  • you cannot modify the line height or spacing of text

Videos

To the best of our abilities, we have added subtitles to all our videos with the options of closed captions (CC), however, videos from third parties are out of our control and could mean that subtitles are not included. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.2.2 Captions. We plan to add captions to this video by January 31st 2022. When we publish new content we’ll make sure our use of videos meets accessibility standards.
