Midwifery
Almost 5,500 babies are born every year at our hospitals. Our staff are passionate in supporting women and their families through pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postnatal period.

What it means to be a Midwife at ULHT
We are looking for compassionate Midwives who are dedicated to delivering outstanding, patient-centred care within our Maternity services. As a Midwife here, your professional development is always at the forefront; we recognise that developing effective and financially sustainable services is down to the commitment, skills, and compassion of all our staff.
– Sophie Easton, Ward Sister

As a newly qualified midwife at ULHT, you will be supported to consolidate your training and progress your career through development opportunities within your first year with us. Newly qualified midwives are given a “Better Births’ pin badge to let fellow colleagues know that they may need more support in the first few weeks and months of practice.
We are proud members of Maternity Voices Partnership, enabling service users and their families; doctors and midwives; and commissioners to be part of the innovation of our services, and the care that we provide.
