“There is so much opportunity for internal progression within this hospital but there is also the possibility to
explore other hospitals within ULHT, and a lot of people like the opportunity to work trustwide.”

Our Exciting Future

In 2020, we launched our five-year Integrated Improvement Plan – our strategic plan to help us move forward as a Trust and ensure we were focusing on the right things for our patients and our staff.

It outlines how, by 2025, we will achieve ‘outstanding care personally delivered’ by improving the quality of care and experience for our patients and the wellbeing of our staff.

The ambitions in each of our strategic objectives, under the headings of our patients, our people, our services and our partners, are underpinned by a number of priorities, which will help us to monitor our progress.

In 2022/23, we refreshed our Integrated Improvement Plan to reflect our changed environment and challenges. This includes recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, improvements identified by the Care Quality Commission and the Trust’s significantly improved position to exit he national Recovery Support Programme (formerly ‘Special Measures’).

We have also identified three key focus areas for the current financial year to:

  1. continue improvements in patient safety and experience
  2. reduce long waiting times for treatment
  3. make our people feel valued and supported by improving our culture and leadership.

You can read our Integrated Improvement Plan in more detail on our Trust website.

Helping You To Develop

Professional development and innovation is our passion, and we recognise that developing effective and financially sustainable services is down to the commitment, skills and compassion of all our staff. We are committed to providing professional and personal development opportunities that will enable people who join us to achieve what they wish in their careers.

The Lincolnshire Talent Academy provides tailored, high-quality in-house training, preceptorship support for new and returning-to-work nurses and a variety of other apprenticeship opportunities.

We work in partnership with the University of Lincoln, in their new medical school, which received its first students in 2019. They also offer under-graduate and post-graduate courses and research opportunities in nursing, midwifery and allied health and social care disciplines, with placements across our hospitals.

“This Trust will always support people who want to develop innovative improvement ideas and deliver good quality services.”
